There are stands for hammocks as well as for hanging chairs made of wood or metal. The wooden stands are impregnated and the metal stands are coated. Therefore they are both suitable for outdoor usage. The selection of a hammock stand depends on different criteria.

The kind and size of the hammock is crucial. Net hammocks, which are in most cases longer than 4 meters and big traditional hammocks require a big stand, such as the wooden stand Siesta Grande since the fixing points have to be high and distant.

Smaller wooden stands or the compact metal stands are suitable for spreader bar hammocks and small farbric hammocks.

The natural product wood is clearly the more beautiful material which can be used for a hammock support frame but these stands are heavier and need more space. Metal stands on the contrary are light and compact. They can easily be transported, uninstalled and installed.
